Well done to Alex Farmer who this week was presented with The Dartfordian award and Medal by The Leader of Dartford Council Jeremy Kite.
When launching the award Jeremy said: "As Leader and Deputy Leader of the Council, Tony Martin and I have the privilege of meeting the most fantastic people from all across the borough who do extraordinary things to make our town better. People who go that extra mile and give of their time and services to local projects and the wider community.
"Tony and I want to do something to cast a proper light on these people and find the true local heroes in our midst. The Dartfordian Award is for anyone who contributes to Dartford, from the long serving lollipop lady helping local children cross the road; the helpful plumber who goes that extra mile with the elderly customer or the volunteer helping others. The Award really is open to any Dartfordian who puts more into our town than they take out."
Alex was nominated by former Mayor Eddy Lampkin (pictured left with current Mayor of Dartford Ann Allen centre) for his contribution to sport in the Borough a large part of which is for DCC and it is a great achievement and recognises what Alex has done in recent years so I’m sure you’ll join me in congratulating him.
