With the clocks having moved forward at the weekend, we are already leaping towards the start of the new cricket season.
Some key dates for your calendar are as follows:
Winter nets have been a great success and will come to an end soon with the last sessions taking place w/c Monday 8th April.
We then move to outdoor training w/c Monday 15th April 2019. Juniors are asked to arrive on time for their specified training session (details to be confirmed shortly) and we ask that you come to training with a willingness to listen, participate and respect the coaches and other players.
Any parent wishing to discuss a matter with a coach is encouraged to do so, but is requested to do this after training so that the coaches can focus on the children.
In the event of inclement weather, please keep checking the club’s social media pages (Dartford Cricket Club on Facebook or @dartfordcricket on Twitter) for updates.
Club Signing-On and Cricket Force day will take place this Saturday 6th April. Please try and pop up to the club between 11-2pm to sign-on for the season ahead and lend a hand to get the grounds and pavilion ready for the start of the season. Hot food and drinks will be on offer for all volunteers!
Also on display will be some second-hand equipment which you may help yourself to – we just ask that you pop a donation in the nearby cash tin please.
As you may have seen already on our website, we are once again running the All Stars Cricket programme with sessions being led by Peter Hughes and Guy Wilson starting on Friday 10th May at 6pm and running for 8 weeks. The aim of this ECB initiative is to inspire the next generation of young cricketers.
Please spread the word amongst your friends and families that this is a great way to start 5-8 year olds off on their cricketing journey. The grassroots of our club start at this age and we welcome all young players and their parents into the Club to enjoy the game of cricket and become part of the DCC community.
Some exciting news for ALL our junior members – on the afternoon of Sunday 9th June we will be bringing the excitement of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 to Hesketh Park with a Parents vs Kids cricket match.
We hope you will join us in celebrating one of the biggest events of the cricketing calendar so please save the date and check the club website for more details.
Lastly, the club are always looking for volunteers to help with the every day running of the club, training nights, matches and event days. If you can help out, even if it is just for a little while, please let us know.
You can contact us by email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
), mobile or come and find us on a Monday night at outdoor training or on Saturday during the Cricket Force/Signing-On day.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Saturday between 11-2pm.
