Club update March 2017

A round-up of the latest news and events of the club.

Hello all,

As the evenings become longer we are now well into the swing of things in terms of preparation for the new season, which is only just around the corner.

Indoor nets have been well-attended particularly by the juniors on a Friday evening, with numbers reaching nearly 50 on various occasions. Juniors training on a Wednesday evening have been lucky enough to have the guidance of Kent Cricket professionals Callum Jackson and Charlie Hartley who have supported head coach Ed Stanford and Ron Turner.

It has been pleasing to see some of the juniors hoping to continue their progression into adult cricket training on a Saturday morning at senior nets, however numbers are still fairly light for these sessions. It will no doubt help your claim for selection in a side in the summer by committing yourself two hours a week to training and thank you to those who do so already.

A new feature for this season is a second Twitter account to our exisiting account (@dartfordcricket). This account, under the handle @DCC_Scores, will be an account solely for score/result updates for matches, allowing everyone to keep an eye on matches across the club on-the-go. This will at first be implemented for adult games and there is a possibility that the same could be done for junior games too. The second account has now been setup so if you have a Twitter account please follow @DCC_Scores.

Also as you may have heard, Lashings All Stars are returning to DCC on Friday 30th June.  This is an important event for the club so it would be much appreciated if you could save the date now to help make this a successful club event. Details about this exciting day will be released in due course.

Off the field the club are still looking for a chairman to head-up the management committee, however the club will continue to function as normal until a suitable replacement is found.

Below is a list of all events that will be taking place this season. Many events and dates are still to be confirmed so keep an eye on the 'Events Diary' section of the website and make sure you follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
